Rather than offer a limited-time free trial, we offer limited-use trials – you can use each Pro feature a few times on the Free plan whenever it's convenient. For instance, you can upload and annotate three PDFs, even though PDF annotation is a Pro feature. After that, you'll be prompted to upgrade when you want to annotate another PDF.

You can also refer friends to receive free months of access to RemNote Pro.

Yes, we offer a full refund within 30 days of any subscription or license purchase if you're unsatisfied for any reason.

Every subscription dollar goes directly into making RemNote more powerful for you. We're reinvesting everything right back into frequent updates, fundamental design research, and tooling.

We don't offer discounts for the Life-Long Learning plan at this time.

We offer a 25% education discount, as well as location-specific discounts for many areas with lower average income, for the RemNote Pro plan (whether you pay monthly or yearly). These are applied automatically based on where you live and, for the education discount, what email address you use (if it's associated with a recognized educational institution, the discount is granted automatically). If you're eligible for one of these discounts, you'll see an appropriately reduced price in Settings > Plans.

The education discount and location-specific discounts cannot be combined; if you're eligible for a location-specific discount, that is applied instead of the education discount.

If you have an AI plan, any discounts you're eligible for are not applied to the part of the plan that pays for AI credits (otherwise we would be selling them at a loss). So for example, if you have a monthly Pro+AI plan with a student discount, you get a 25% discount on the Pro plan part of it ($10), and a 0% discount on the AI part of it ($10), for a total monthly cost of $10 * 75% + $10 = $17.50.

Use your free credits by subscribing to RemNote Pro in Settings > Plans. Your payment method won't be charged until your credits run out, and you can cancel at any time. When you open up the Stripe Billing Page to subscribe, you'll see a $0 charge if your existing credits cover the duration of the next subscription period you're paying for (either one month or one year).

At this time, credits awarded from inviting friends can be redeemed only for monthly or yearly RemNote Pro subscriptions. Life-Long Learning plans and AI credits cannot be purchased with credits.

You can cancel your subscription at any time in Settings > Plans. We don't pro-rate subscriptions for partial months or years; instead, when you cancel your plan, your RemNote Pro access will continue through the next date you would have been billed, finishing out the month or year you paid for, and then your account will be downgraded to Free.

Certainly not! If you move from RemNote Pro to RemNote Free, all work done while using RemNote Pro remains in your account. For example, you’ll have ongoing access to all existing Aliases, PDF uploads and highlights, and Image Occlusion cards. To create new content using Pro features or, in some cases, edit existing content using Pro features, you'll need to subscribe again.

It depends on the specific element. For instance, you'll still be able to change the text of aliases, but you won't be able to change queries in search portals.

You can always undo the accidental deletion of a Pro element, just like any other element, by pressing Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac). We also count how many Pro elements are in your knowledge base on an ongoing basis, so that if you drop below the total limit for free accounts (e.g., 3 PDFs), you can again create new Pro elements of that type.

Yes, all bug fixes are always available to all users.

We're proud to offer an extremely powerful free plan. Our mission is to empower as many thinkers and learners as possible, and our free plan makes this possible.

Absolutely! Both RemNote Pro and RemNote Free users will continue to see many new features, quality-of-life updates, and bug fixes. Of course, we'll release new Pro-only features as well.

Whenever you use an AI feature in RemNote, we charge your account AI credits. AI credits reset each month on your billing date. If you run out of AI credits, you won't be able to use AI features again until the end of your billing cycle.

Even though prices are falling over time, RemNote's generative AI features are still quite expensive to run, and we're a small startup that can't afford to subsidize the costs. But we believe these features can greatly improve many people's learning experience, so rather than simply not offer them, we've adopted a credit system so everyone can benefit from limited use of them, and those who can afford to pay for more can use them extensively.

If you're on a Pro plan and you run out of AI credits, you can upgrade to the Pro+AI plan, which will give you 20,000 AI credits per month compared to the Pro plan's 1,000 AI credits per month.

Adding AI credits to your RemNote Pro plan or Life-Long-Learning license currently costs $10 per month, whether billed monthly or yearly.

We're currently offering the AI credits included in Pro+AI plans at cost. This means we cannot offer any discounts on them.
