As soon as you start sharing notes or working in a Group, the people you're collaborating with can see your account. Your profile is how you decide what they see, your name, your handle, and your picture, so that you show up the way you want to the people you work alongside.
Before you change anything, it’s worth seeing what other people already see. Open Settings > Profile > Community > Shared profile to view your profile page as it appears to someone else. Documents in the Private section are not visible on your profile page and can only be viewed by those with whom you have shared a link to these documents directly.
Editing and sharing your profile
To make changes, go to Settings > Profile > Edit profile. From here you can:
Update your name
Choose a handle for your account
Add or change your profile picture
Your handle gives you a unique web address that others can use to find your account later. It looks like https://remnote.com/profile/your_handle, so a handle of "marie_curie" would give you https://remnote.com/profile/marie_curie.
You can share your account with anyone by sending them that link. The quickest way to get it is to open your profile page and click the Share Profile button, which copies your unique address so you can paste it into a message, an email, or anywhere else.
Profiles and Groups
Profiles are most useful when you're working in a group. Everyone in a group can see one another's profiles, so if you're studying together, say, preparing for the same exam, the other members can click your name to open your profile and see who they're collaborating with.
To learn more about working with others this way, see the Groups article.
Note: Profiles are intentionally simple right now. We plan to add more ways to collaborate and share in RemNote in future updates.
