RemNote can automatically recognize tabular data when you paste it into your notes. Whether you're copying from a spreadsheet, a CSV file, a web page, or output from an LLM like ChatGPT, RemNote will detect the table structure and convert it into a Simple Table for you.

You can also paste tabular data into an existing table β€” both Simple and Advanced Tables are supported.

Creating a New Table by Pasting

To bring table data into RemNote:

  1. Open your spreadsheet in any application (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets).

  2. Select and copy the rows and columns you want to import.

  3. Place your cursor where you'd like the table to appear in your RemNote document.

  4. Paste using Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V on Mac).

RemNote will automatically create a Simple Table from the pasted data, preserving the row and column structure. The first row will be used as the header row.

Note: This works with any tab-separated or table-formatted data β€” not just .csv files. Tables copied from web pages, Google Sheets, Excel, and LLM responses (such as ChatGPT or Gemini) are all recognized.

Pasting into an Existing Table

You can paste tabular data directly into an existing Simple Table or Advanced Table:

  1. Copy the data from your source (spreadsheet, CSV, or other table).

  2. Select cells in your existing table where you want to add your data.

  3. Paste using Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V on Mac).

The pasted data will fill in cells starting from the selected position, following the row and column structure of the copied content.

If you need features like properties, sorting, or filtered views after importing, you can convert your Simple Table into an Advanced Table at any time. See Tables for more details.
